FAQs
What is included in craft beverage insurance?
Craft beverage insurance is a specialized form of beverage manufacturing insurance that includes all the standard commercial insurance protection with critical coverages tailored for the alcoholic beverage industry. It includes foundational policies like commercial property and general liability coverages, along with essential industry-specific protections such as liquor liability, product contamination, equipment breakage, and many more.
What policies do craft beverage manufacturers need?
Craft beverage manufacturers must have workers’ compensation insurance and liquor liability policies by law. Other coverages like commercial property, general liability, business interruption, commercial auto, etc are not mandatory by law but are foundational policies that protect your business and its operations. Coverage for risks such as tank collapse and sudden product recalls are also important for large craft beverage manufacturers.
Do I need separate product insurance coverages?
Product liability insurance is generally included within craft beverage insurance. However, for beverage businesses with very high-risk products, global distribution, or exceptionally high production volumes, you may require a separate, high-limit product liability policy. It is recommended to consult with your insurance agency for this requirement.
How much does craft beverage insurance cost?
An insurance package with minimum coverage costs $1000 to $2500 annually while a comprehensive insurance package with higher coverage limits and additional specialized coverage costs $5000 and higher.
